Florida (Day One)

24 Apr

We arrived yesterday, visiting Frank’s dad in Coral Springs. Something I’ve noticed about Florida is how vast and flat it is. Like other parts of the country (Indiana comes to mind) it seems to consist of long roads and strip malls.

We can see tall buildings in the distance from the highway, but I can’t tell if it’s Ft. Lauderdale (I think), or Miami. We have yet to go to either place when we’re here. Mostly we stay in the house, with a side trip or two to the casino.

I’m hoping to connect with a friend from work who’s here this weekend. He’s retiring here in a couple more months. It’s hard to say much about the place when we don’t get out and see it, but I’m hoping we can do that a little this time.
